August life updates ||Taking Stock #4

Wow people, August has finished finally. What a relief! *sighs*
This particular month felt so slow to me —exceptionally slow. Compared to the past months. I honestly think it's because I'm hitching to complete my one year mandatory youth service to my country, I talked about it on my last taking stock post here on the blog. I feel like I'm being caged up in one position and everything has been on a vicious circle for almost a year now. I'm just tired of the repetition lifestyle. Anyway enough of my ranting. How was the month of August for you? I hope this month ended well for you as I love you so much to wish you bad.

I love this segment of the blog  as it gives me the opportunity to put aside my serious mood and get all giddy and chatty with you. It's indeed an opportunity, I pray we get to meet in future (for some of you that I haven't met before). So I can hug you and tell you that you don't deserve any of those painful strokes that life gives you and that one day those marks will represent the many struggles in life which you had to fight tirelessly  to win. Please take heart, the storm will soon be over. I love you as a dear sister that you are to me.

*Sobs* I shed tears for once there, I felt I needed to tell you that because you have been broken for too long. Please cheer up!

Now let's gist about the month of August.
Happy: that the month of August finally finished and I have about three or four months to get back to real life. Thank goodness!

Thankful: to God that I am alive to witness the month of SEPTEMBER. I mean it's pure God's grace. It's worth showing gratitude for such a precious gift —Life.

Eating: oh! I cooked a very delicious pot of groundnut soup a.k.a peanut stew. I needed it in my life. After all, it's been a while since I ate it last. I also shared some with my friends and they enjoyed it as well. Have you eaten groundnut soup a.k.a peanut stew before? You can check Precious Core for the full recipe.

Reading: well I must be honest. I stopped reading the book that I told you about in my previous life updates. Life happened and I haven't just found the time to squeeze in the book to read. But hopefully I will resume reading it this new month.

Watching: yesterday I watched the Passion Of The Christ. This Biblical movie showed the traumatic persecutions of Jesus Christ and His undying love for mankind. There is this scene where Peter,  in anger cut off one of the soldiers ears who had come to arrest Jesus Christ  but Jesus Christ still healed the soldiers bleeding ear, restored it wholely and rebuked Peter that "he that lives by the sword shall die by the sword".
Imagine such love and compassion for mankind. Imagine showing love and kindness to your enemies! I was left with questions in my heart. I'm marvelled by the love of Christ for us.

Observing: kids, yes kids. They worry about nothing in their little minds. Always believing that daddy and mommy will provide everything whether within their convenience or not. It's amazing that I was once like that —a child. Not that I am old now but adulthood as gotten a grip of me and responsibilities have set in. All I can think of now when I see a child is to be the best mother to my children when that time comes.

Wondering: if it's a standard rule to always compromise one's standards and beliefs in other to be loved and accepted. I believe that we all need love and acceptance from our society but where that happens at the expense of our dignity and beliefs is just pure pretense or don't you think so? I mean, for how long can a person pretend to like what he/she doesn't?

Wanting: to attend one of those bloggers meet and greet or some sort of bloggers hangout, whatever that can bring us together. I think I would love to meet other creative minds in person. Hopefully in future, not in a haste though.

Wishing: for the best Christmas ever. I know I'm sounding like a child right now but I honestly wish for a Christmas where I could spend with the most important people in my life, where we could go places that I have not been too before, laugh loudly together and let our guards down without having to worry about all the what ifs and fear of the unknown.

Praying: yes, I'm declaring some things to manifestation. Even though my faith may waver sometimes but I have to keep declaring until God hears me and Heaven's gate is opened for my sake. Do you believe that you can manifest your declarations?

Trying: some new things, precisely two new things. Firstly, I recently started finger detangling and combing my hair. I saw it on YouTube. So I thought I should try it out because I learnt that it reduces hair breakage and helps retain length, I'm loving it already.
Secondly, I have been tying more of turbans now because the weather here is very humid due to the heavy rainfall. I don't want to end up with frizzy hair and I also really love how turbans can upgrade my outfits from basic to glam.

Learning: this is the best part. The month of August was a teacher, not like the past months weren't but I learnt something shocking in this month.
I learnt that loneliness and idleness are the evil twins that can torment a person. They can drive one into evil acts, self loathing and regrets. For those young women who go into the wrong relationships because they feel lonely and unloved, sisters please you deserve the best so get it together, come out of that illusion, discover a talent and passion within  and occupy yourselves with such and the good men will come unexpectedly.
This month, I also learnt to look beyond the problems and draw solutions from within.

Till next time. Be happy, be healthy, be
unapologetically unique.
Your turn now. Please don't be a stranger.

    1. Babe it's so good to know that you utilize loneliness by putting your mind to work. Good work on that business plan. And don't worry, the service year will soon be over.

    1. August has been hard on me but good for me at the same time. Some major hurdles to overcome. I've become so much closer to my significant other and I see how much he wants to take care of me and see me succeed. I let go of a job that was only going to hinder me. I relaunched my website and I'm fighting to keep it going and then some. My hope is that I will be my own boss vs. having to keep working for someone else. August was definitely a growth and transition type of month. Definitely worth it but glad it's over lol
